Educational
techology have widely used to make an effective learning atmophere. Student
usually tend to use modern method than traditional method. This phenomena have
been spreaded fast in 21th. As the Net-Generation, the
student cannot be separated in using technology to support their
education. Blogging is one of the prominent technologies that can
be used to make writing become more interesting. The teacher can encourage the student to start
writing and post the task in their blog then the teacher can give feedback to the student.
Kashani et.al did the study about this phenomena. They compared the
effect of using traditional method ‘Pen-and-Paper’ with modern method ‘Blogging’.
The finding showed that the effect of blogging made student more interested and
more motivated in writing in spite of the
quality of the writing was not significantly increased. In line with the study,
Armstrong & Retterer (2008) indicated that blogging cannot make the student
improved their writing performance automatically but it could make student got
their confidence in writing.
This technology can also be implemented in
Indonesian college student but the implementation will be faced some problems. Some
problems that will be faced such as the
students have luck understanding about blogging. The teacher has to give
information more about what blogging is and it will be take much time. The most
common problem that will be faced is limited internet connection.
Actually,
the problem can be minimized if there any college support. The college can
provide good internet connection. Later, rapidly the student can learn how to
blogging from internet.
